It is here! The time has come! For almost 2 years, Katie B. and I have been planning and dreaming of starting a 5K to benefit the Cancer Services Network and the time is NOW!
The CSN is an amazing organization here locally that provides financial assistance to people undergoing cancer treatment who need help with their bills, their precscriptions, their food, and social work needs. It has become an organization very near and dear to my heart.
So here is what you can do! Go to http://www.cancerservicesnetwork.org/ and SIGN UP FOR THE RACE! Even you folks out of town can sign up for "Pajamas with Purpose" and stay in your jammies all morning while you are helping those who are battling cancer. 100% of the entries will go directly to the CSN and all of the money CSN raises is used to help clients in the Abilene area.
The time is now! Help how you can! We all appreciate it! And I'll see you on the 18th at Frontier Texas!

Left Off Center
Those of you who know my little mop top tot, know that he is a little...well...different. He marches to the beat of his own drummer and as a mother I celebrate that! I hope that he carries his "cautious" nature and "independence" with him throughout his life. As a mother preparing for the holidays, I am a little annoyed.
His biggest "quirk" is his attachment to shorts, a t-shirt and his crocs or sandals. God help us when it gets cold outside. That said, we were looking through Halloween costumes today and for weeks he has said that he wants to be a firefighter. "Ben you want to be a fireman, don't you?!?" "NOOOOO!!!!! I am a FIRE FIGHTER!" Big difference, I guess.
So he looks at the photo of the darling, happy child in the overpriced firefighter costume and beams! "That is what I want, Mommy!" And then he turned to me and finished: "But I am not wearing those pants. I am not wearing that jacket. I just mean...I am going to wear my day clothes. I just mean...I am going to wear a clean T shirt, my shorts and my crocs and that helmut. And maybe the axe!"
Oh joy!

How'd Ben do?
My blogging haitus has become semi-permanent due to a little toddler training going on in the Bredemeyer Household. I say "training"...it has been more like man on man on tot since we came home from California. Kevin now refers to our anniversary trip as the "really expensive vacation that will cost me for a lifetime!"
As you all know our darling child suffers from pretty severe seperation anxiety and being away from him for 10 days certainly did not help. We thought that since he would be splitting his time between his 6 favorite people on Earth, that the severity of our being away would somehow lessen. It did not.
I am happy to report that almost a month later, things are starting to look up and each day he seems to let go a little more of his fear of being abandoned by Mom & Dad. Hurray for progress. I am convinced that the Industrial Revolution happened in a shorter amount of time, but as everyone with a child knows: IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING!
So I thought I'd share with you the only photo we have of Ben in the past month. This was taken the day we got back. I think it pretty well sums up his oppinion of our leaving him for 10 days!

Oh my gosh. I just logged into blogger for the first time in two weeks and my dashboard now tells me I have TWO FOLLOWERS! I have a fan base people. Wow...I am certain this is how it all started for Joan Didion and JK Rowling. Certain, indeed.
